Lakme India Fashion week (LIFw), one of the most prestigious fashion events of the year was marked by grace and vibrance on its fifth day.

Designers Elina Ahluwalia, Malini Agrawalla, Sonali Dalwani and Suhani Pittie showcased their collections which were based on various themes.

Sonali Dalwani’s collection was based on the Papillon or the butterfly which was supposed to symbolise free spirited women who are happy. Sonali said, "The whole inspiration
was the butterfly, which is basically let a butterfly free and you are basically happy to see it. And at the same time free spirited, so it was for a free spirited woman who is beautiful, happy and free." Her collection was a vibrant lot, the outfits were multi coloured and the handbags and necklaces had butterfly designs on them, apt for the theme.

Anusha Dandekar, a video jockey, was the showstopper. She was clad in a techni colour outfit with a ‘larger than life’ beach bag and jewellery. She sizzled the ramp with her high heels.

Another designer Mallini Agrawalla, showcased a range of colourful bags and clutches which complemented attractive belts, necklaces and shoes. Mallini was totally a hit with critics who went to the extent of calling her designs a feast for the eyes!

Mallini said, "The work behind was quite tedious but we were hoping that comes across as fun and light and in the evening it all went into wholeness."

The fashion parade saw gorgeous models sizzle down the ramp draped in georgette, chiffon, jersey, crepe and linen.
